My last recipe from the WA Post did not mention adding the eggs to boiling water. I added my eggs as instructed to simmering water and the egg did not cook into strands, but instead turned the soup into a milky color.

It is one of my favourite soups and one I make fairly often, since discovering it at the now defunct Ginsberg and Wong restaurant in Toronto years ago. I usually use red wine vinegar as the black vinegar has an unpleasant taste to my palate. Your recipe seems to be a pretty faithful version and has my mouth watering.
