Hi Reiko, sesame paste can be a bit finicky because depending on whether it's the start of the bottle or the end, it may have a different concentration of oil. You can avoid this by mixing it really well before using it, but even then I sometimes find that the extra particulate matter at the bottom tends to break. Try adding a bit more liquid next time.

I’ve made it many times and it's a family favourite. The last couple times I made it, the sauce has split. It seems stable very briefly (30 min?) but then has split and turned greasy. Do you have any idea what I'm doing wrong? (For what it's worth, I haven't switched brands of any of my bottled products.)

You're welcome Nadine, thanks for stopping by to let me know you enjoyed it! That's a great idea using this in a wrap! If I were to do it in a wrap I might be tempted to spread a streak of hoisin sauce on the wrap before adding the other things.
